Designed using advanced engineering and prioritizing ergonomics in order to meet Türkiye's need for light machine guns with completely domestic capabilities, the SAR 556 MT light machine gun has been developed for both infantry and platforms.

Thanks to its quick-change barrel mode (QCB), the SAR 556 MT eliminates the need for high firepower and has a body capable of firing at least 50,000 rounds. The light machine gun, which can fire continuously at temperatures between -42°C and +71°C, can effectively fire at targets between 300 and 1000 meters with 8- position mechanical sights. The SAR 556 MT also offers 6 different height settings in the cheek rest system on the adjustable 5-position buttstock, which improves shooting ergonomics. Equipped with a hydraulic buffer system that minimizes the recoil force in order to provide the user with more comfortable shooting, the SAR 556 MT features an open trigger system with a gas-driven operating principle that provides the best results in semi-auto and full auto firing. The SAR 556 MT is available in two different models: the SAR 556 MT-T, which features only a linked belt feed system, and the SAR 556 MT-T, which features both a magazine and linked belt feed system.
